Leadership and Governance

The countries we work with are our partners. That’s why we work closely not only with countries’ health systems, but with governments, civil society, faith-based organizations, the private sector, and communities to get the results countries need. Together we combat corruption, gender-based discrimination, inefficiency, and the many barriers that can stand in the way of high-functioning health systems.

Through our “whole of government” approach, we help countries develop the leadership and governance they need to build inclusive, equitable, effective health sectors that provide high-quality care for all.

Our key approaches include:

  • Developing the capacity of stakeholder leadership groups
  • Using health workforce data for policy- and decision-making
  • Building capacity in leadership and management
  • Gender assessment, analysis, and advocacy
