IntraHealth Welcomes Maqsoda Maqsodi as Interim President & CEO

Chapel Hill, NC

Beginning February 15, 2023, Maqsoda Maqsodi will become interim president and CEO at IntraHealth International as IntraHealth’s outgoing president and CEO, Polly Dunford, departs to pursue new opportunities.

“It has been an honor to lead this incredible organization which has operated in a hundred countries over the past 40 years,” Dunford says. “I've been privileged to work alongside such committed global health and development experts. I know that under Maqsoda’s leadership, IntraHealth will remain focused on its crucial vision that everyone everywhere has access to the health care they need to thrive.”

Previously Maqsodi served as chief program and growth officer and chief operating officer at IntraHealth, leading the program portfolio and developing the strategic growth plan for the organization. She has 20 years of experience leading and implementing large, complex, donor- funded projects globally. Prior to joining IntraHealth, Maqsodi served as senior director of the Middle East and North Africa Business Unit at Chemonics and as acting senior vice president, project director, and operations director in the Global Health Division at Chemonics.

“I am so proud to be part of an organization that has a rich history of supporting health workers."

“I am so proud to be part of an organization that has a rich history of supporting health workers, the backbone of our health systems,” Maqsodi says. “Last year, IntraHealth worked with almost 8,000 local partners worldwide in 41 countries to strengthen health systems and make health care available to more of the communities we serve. I look forward to building on this strength and furthering the agenda of localization that IntraHealth has led for many years.”

As part of the transition, chief technical officer Philippe Guinot will take on the role of interim chief operating officer. Guinot brings 30 years of experience from the nonprofit and private sectors and has extensive expertise in strategy, partnership development, country programming, portfolio management, finance and operations, and business planning.

“As Polly steps down to pursue new endeavors, we have full confidence in our new interim leadership team to lead IntraHealth to greater heights,” says Marianne Vermeer, chair of IntraHealth’s board of directors. “With their guidance, IntraHealth will achieve renewed growth and further increase its global health impact.”
