IntraHealth International is working with lead partner Amref Health Africa as part of TRANSFORM/Developing Regional States activity in Ethiopia. This five-year project is funded by the US Agency for International Development and works in the Ethiopian regions of Afar, Somali, Benishangul-Gumuz, and Gambella, which are primarily populated by pastoral and migratory communities whose health outcomes lag behind national targets.
Together with our TRANSFORM partners, we’re reducing maternal, newborn, and child mortality by strengthening the health systems of these regions, including through greater quality assurance in service delivery and human resources for health initiatives related to maternal, neonatal, and child health, and family planning. We incorporate gender-focused approaches across all program activities.
We aim to:
Increase access to integrated quality maternal, neonatal, and child health, and family planning services at health facility and community levels
Increase health seeking behavior through targeted health communications
Improve strategic information for evidence-based decision making and program learning
